School Pictures

It's school picture day, and the man behind the camera tells me to sit up straight. He has me turn my head to the left and then to the right. When that doesn't work, he makes me tilt my chin down. I feel like a five year old pretending to be a model. Finally I am in a position that the camera man likes.
The man gets behind the camera and holds up an old dragon stuffed animal. The creature looks as if it might have once been the color green, I think. The man tells me to say cheese. Quickly, I plaster a look on my face that I hope resembles a grin. The man snaps a picture and I'm done.
About three weeks later, all of the pictures are ready to be handed out. I nervously wait in line, not wanting to see mine. What if my picture was another fail? My life would officially be over.
My teacher hands me the envelope containing my picture, and my life ends.
